Bibles for Christian Kids Young and Old

Children need the Word of God to grow and thrive just as babies need milk. Even before they’re old enough to understand God’s Word, they need to be immersed in it daily so that they never know a day without hearing God’s life-giving Gospel.

Train up a child in the way he should go;

even when he is old he will not depart from it.

-Proverbs 22:6

My son, do not forget my teaching,

but let your heart keep my commandments,

for length of days and years of life

and peace they will add to you.

-Proverbs 3:1-2

Unfortunately, while we’re blessed to live in the age of plentiful Bibles, not all Bibles are good, nor are they all trustworthy. Some people, meaning well, have translated the original documents poorly in order to coddle modern readers, watering the language down so much that it’s no longer Scripture.

Others have inserted their own thoughts and biases into the words themselves, committing eisegesis, rather than exegesis.

But rather than talk about the “Bibles” that are less than trustworthy today, I’m going to list for you some of my favorite real and story Bibles for families to taste and see that the Lord is good.
